The big one for Harlequins this year is the National (C2) Event on Brown Clee this coming Sunday. The hill was last used in 2005, for the JK, and was also used for a National back in 2000, before the time of foot and mouth, when there were two thousand competitors. It’s a pity, of course, that there will only be half that number this time, but it’s still going to be an impressive sight, all ably steered along by Rollo Rumford. I’m quite excited at being involved both as a helper and a runner; I’ve never set foot on the hill before, though looking at the map it’s clear that it shares a lot of weirdness with its southern brother, Titterstone Clee.
